Many of the images particularly the slides suffered from emulsion rot. As a result of the slides and negatives sltting in damp wooden containers for years, the emulsion was often damaged. Many of the photos particularly from the 70's and the 80's suffered from emulsion that had "flaked off". Which either meant rejection or hours of retouching in Photoshop. This photo and the next one are examples of images that were too good to pass up and required many evenings of reconstruction. >>
